Byron Gernard, MA

Technical Director

Byron GernardMy introduction to the Brazosport College Theatre Department came in 1973. I studied theatre here at BC, at Sam Houston State University, and at the University of Houston at Clear Lake City, receiving a BA and an MA in Humanities: Communications and Theatre Arts.

My return to Brazosport in the late 1980s allowed me to participate in BC productions ever since. In 1999, I became a speech/theatre faculty member and technical director here at the college. Although I retired from the faculty in 2019, I am on part-time staff as a technical director for the theatre.

Acting in and directing numerous shows helped me stay busy. In addition, I co-wrote a three-play werewolf thrillogy with a beautiful, talented, and legendary BC English professor, my wife, Karen. We produced all three thrillogy shows here BC.
