Basic Life Support (CPR)
This course is a two-year certification in Basic Life Support (CPR) and does not include First Aid. The American Heart Association (AHA) strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all its courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA. Allied Health Track: Certified Nurse Aide to Medical Assistant
This program provides an opportunity for Certified Nurse Aides to earn a stacked credential. CNA license must be current, in good standing, and license holder must have at least 1 year of working CNA experience during the last 3 years (before start date of the program). Medical Assistants work in medical clinics and similar settings assisting physicians by performing administrative duties and handling basic clinical tasks. Often, they are the first person a patient may encounter during a medical appointment. Medical Assistants are trained in front office duties, charting, billing procedures, EKG, phlebotomy, vital signs, and other important clinical tasks. This is a blended course with both on-campus and online instruction.
Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)
CNA training is designed for students who want to gain entry level employment in healthcare, while also introducing students to basic nursing skills for those interested in enrolling in future nursing programs. Emphasis is placed on skills needed to provide basic care for long-term care residents. Course includes the cost of the state of Texas certification exam.
Dental Assistant Program
The Dental Assistant Program prepares students for entry level positions in the dental field. The program will cover key areas and topics introducing the student to classroom lecture and hands-on instruction. Dedicated time will also be spent training in a dental office. The state exam will be taken during the program and the cost is included in tuition.
NEW! Healthcare Manager Course
This course provides an opportunity for anyone currently in or interested in advancing to a manager's role within a healthcare office or clinic. Students will be introduced to basic concepts necessary to effectively manage office/clinic operations. A review of current healthcare trends, as well as the concepts of healthcare financial and personnel operations, and legal processes in healthcare management will be covered.

This course provides an introduction to healthcare, sharing details about different options of professions and requirements for each, and includes a unique opportunity to meet professionals in a variety of healthcare fields who will share their educational experiences firsthand. A focus of this course will also introduce you to the language of healthcare as you learn the basics of medical terminology to help you become familiar and comfortable learning to communicate professionally, which is essential in all areas of healthcare, no matter which career you may choose.

Medical Assistant Refresher
This refresher course is intended for Medical Assistants who are interested in enhancing their current clinical skills, preparing for re-entry into the work force, or preparing to renew an expired Medical Assistant certification (expired within the last 2 years). Proof of successful completion of a prior Medical Assistant training program or expired MA certification is a required prerequisite before students can enroll into this course.
Medical Billing & Coding Program
The Medical Billing and Coding Program is designed to teach students the basic concepts of medical office skills, including billing for physician offices and processing medical insurance claims. The course is designed for healthcare professionals, office managers and those interested in the business aspects of healthcare. The cost of a national certification exam is included in this program.
NEW! Personal Trainer Program
This instructor-led, face-to-face program prepares students for a career as a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT). Students are given all of the tools and resources needed to become a successful fitness professional and positively impact the health and wellness of their future clients. The curriculum is provided by ACE (American Council on Exercise). The textbook and cost of exam are included in the total cost of the program.
Pharmacy Technician Program
The Pharmacy Technician Program is designed to teach students the fundamentals of the pharmacy technician profession. Students will be introduced to various pharmacy practice settings and will learn drug classes, basic physiology, drug interactions, daily pharmacy operations and pharmacy calculations. Along with classroom training and practice, the program also includes a hands-on clinical rotation in a pharmacy setting.
Phlebotomy Technician Program
Phlebotomists draw blood from a patient for clinical or medical testing, transfusions or blood donations. Anyone who chooses this field should be comfortable with blood, needles, and blood vials. Students are trained to perform a variety of blood collection methods with an emphasis on safety, quality assurance, patient identification and specimen handling. This course is taught by an experienced phlebotomist in a face-to-face format. Upon successful completion of classoom and lab training, students will train in the Phlebotomy Clinical Practicum. During the practicum, students will be assigned to work in a clinical facility and receive hands-on training in the field. Prerequisites for Clinical Practicum: At least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE), acceptable criminal background and completion of all state-required immunizations and CPR training.
Phlebotomy REFRESHER Course
For medical professionals that would like to be re-trained or re-fresh their phlebotomy skills, this is the course for you! The course provides training on current phlebotomy skills and standards that will help individuals to gain confidence in practicing phlebotomy to either prepare for re-entering the work force or to simply enhance the individual’s skill level. This class will meet the needs for nurses, medical assistants, new and currently practicing phlebotomists. Proof of successful completion of a Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant training program, or professional license or certification is required as prerequisite before students can enroll. Course includes sitting for the Phlebotomy national certification exam through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). The exam fee is included in the tuition.
