Allied Health Track: Certified Nurse Aide to Medical Assistant

This program provides an opportunity for Certified Nurse Aides to earn a stacked credential and become a Medical Assistant. The student’s CNA license must be current, in good standing, and license holder must have at least 1 year of working experience as a CNA during the last 3 years (before start date of the program). Medical Assistants work in medical clinics and similar settings assisting physicians by performing administrative duties and handling basic clinical tasks.  Often, they are the first person a patient may encounter during a medical appointment.  Medical Assistants are trained in front office duties, charting, billing procedures, EKG, phlebotomy, vital signs, and other important clinical tasks.
