This Construction Site Safety Technician (CSST) course is designed to prepare an individual for assuming the responsibility of coordinating a construction site/project safety program. This course introduces students to the required knowledge and activities of a construction site safety technician and is intended for all who desire to work in the construction industry as safety personnel.

Class Schedule:

Thursday: 6:00PM - 10:00PM - Fall I  

OSHT 1405: OSHA Regulations - Construction Industry - over an 8 week period

Thursday: 6:00 PM - 9:00PM - Fall II

OSHT 2309: Safety Program Management - over an 8 week period

+ Industrial Math Wednesdays: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Upon completion, participants will receive:

  • Seven college credit hours
  • An Occupational Skills Award from Brazosport College
  • NCCER Construction Site Safety Orientation Certification and Blue Card
  • NCCER Construction Site Safety Technician Certification
  • NCCER Construction Site Safety Supervisor Certification

Eligibility Requirements

Only applicants meeting all requirements, including TABE Math scores, will be eligible to attend orientation. Applicants with any college degrees (Associate's or higher) will not qualify. Applicants with "holds" on their record will not qualify unless "holds" are cleared before orientation. The Jumpstart Team will register you for the courses once approved.

No Cost to Eligible Students

All expenses are covered including costs for tuition, TABE Math testing, loaner books, Safety PPE, FRC Clothing and Steel toed boots for those in the CSST program.

Limited Spaces

Seats in this program are limited. A maximum of 12 participants will be accepted for each Construction Site Safety Technician class. This is a grant-based program, therefore certain criteria must be met in order to qualify for the Jumpstart program.
