COLLEGE UPDATE SESSIONS ON MAY 14

PIPING PROJECT UPDATE & SCHEDULE

The final phase of the piping project will be starting next week, May 18. They will be removing and reinstalling chilled water and hot water piping above the ceilings in the main second floor hallways of BC Central. The ceilings do have materials that contain asbestos in them so abatement activities will have to be conducted during their removal.

Access will be prohibited in the hallways during the project work. Also chilled water for air conditioning in the wings adjacent to the halls in both the first and second floors will not be available during the replacement on each respective side. A tentative schedule for the work is provided below:

A, B & C Wing Side

• Demo ceiling in A, B & C wings - Mon 5/18/20 - Wed 5/27/20
• Prep for pipe work (lights, cables etc.) - Mon 5/25/20 - Tue 5/26/20
• Remove/Replace pipe in A, B & C wings - Wed 5/28/20 - Wed 6/17/20
• Insulate pipe in hallway A, B & C wings - Wed 6/17/20 - Wed 6/24/20
• Install ceiling & lights A, B & C wings – Mon 6/29/20 – Fri 7/10/20

G, H & J Wing Side

• Demo ceiling in G, H & J wings - Wed 5/27/20 – Mon 6/8/20
• Prep for pipe work (lights, cables etc.) - Mon 6/22/20 - Tue 6/23/20
• Remove/Replace pipe in G, H & J wing - Wed 6/24/20 - Wed 7/15/20
• Insulate pipe in hallway G, H & J wing - Wed 7/15/20 - Wed 7/22/20
• Install ceiling & light in G, H & J wing – Mon 7/27/20 – Fri 8/7/20
