June 17: Employee COVID-19 Update
We're back! Brazosport College is open for normal on-campus operations and face-to-face courses this Summer and Fall.
BRAZORIA COUNTY COVID-19 VACCINE INFORMATION
Per the Texas Department of State Health Services, as of Monday, March 29, 2021, anyone over 16 years of age is eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Texas. The COVID-19 vaccine adds one more layer of protection for our students, staff, faculty and community and helps give us the best chance of getting “back to normal” and staying that way. Local COVID-19 vaccine appointment information can be found at www.brazosport.edu/coronavirus/vaccine/.
Please note, for the Pfizer vaccine, recipients must be 12 years of age or older. For the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines, recipients must be 18 years of age or older.
CURRENT BRAZOSPORT COLLEGE COVID-19 HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS
We care about the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff. Brazosport College continues to take certain measures to minimize the spread of COVID-19.
- The Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines regarding the wearing of masks recently changed. Additionally, Governor Abbott issued a new executive order on May 18, 2021. As a result of these changes, you are no longer required to wear a mask on the Brazosport College campus. If you wish to continue to wear a mask, please do so.
- Effective June 1, 2021, daily online health screenings are no longer required; however, individuals should perform a self-health check prior to coming to campus and stay home if sick.
- We will continue to follow guidance from the CDC and our state and local health departments, so it's vital that you check your Brazosport College email for updates before heading to campus.
- Please note that the department and division personnel plans that were effective June 1, 2021 are still in place with a full return to normal operations planned for August 23, 2021.
- COVID-19 vaccines are effective at protecting you from getting sick. Local COVID-19 vaccine appointment information can be found at www.brazosport.edu/coronavirus/vaccine/.
Please continue following the CDC guidelines for prevention of the COVID-19 Coronavirus, which includes, but not limited to, thorough hand washing, social distancing, and receiving COVID-19 vaccinations.
