COVID19 Update for Employees: March 26
Please review today’s updates on new building access points and information technology. If you still have unanswered questions, please check out our COVID-19 FAQ page. If you cannot find the answers you’re looking for online, you can ask us a question at the bottom of the FAQ page, and someone will get back with you as soon as possible.
NEW BUILDING ACCESS POINTS
As many of you are aware, Brazoria County has issued a Stay Safe at Home Order effective 3/26 at 6 p.m. through 4/3 at 11:59 p.m. With this new Stay Safe at Home Order, the college will be limiting the point of entry to all buildings on campus. These new access points will also help Campus Safety know exactly where to meet you to allow you into the building. Please continue to call Campus Safety at 979-230-3030 or 979-236-3959 to be let into all buildings and follow the same guidelines provided in yesterday’s update.
The new building access points are:
- BC Central
- The main door to the front lobby
- Downstairs main door to C-WING
- Sadler Complex: The main door to lobby closest to Green Lot
- L & M Wings: Main doors facing the courtyard
- CLC: Main door near Orange Lot
- BASF Center: Main lobby door
- The Clarion: Entrance near loading bay
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and we encourage everyone to follow the guidance of the county’s Stay Safe at Home Order.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
I.T. is happy to provide any support needed.
Please do not hesitate to let them know what they can do to help things work better for you. If you are having problems, please report them so that they can help correct any issues. They can be reached by phone, email, or chat.
Hours of support next week will be:
- Mon – Thurs: 7:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Friday: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Please do not call 911 from your softphone from off campus.
This may delay first responders in locating you since your extension is in their database as being on campus. If you need to call 911 from the softphone, make sure you clearly identify your location and tell them that their system may incorrectly show your college office as the location rather than your off-campus location.
I.T. still has laptops available for employees.
Anticipating changes in travel restrictions, they are asking everyone to come in before Friday. However, we understand that education activities are considered essential travel. We can also arrange delivery in some circumstance. However, initial checkout of a laptop has to happen on campus. Please contact the Helpdesk to make an appointment before coming to campus to get a laptop or other technology support.
This Friday all I.T. support on campus is by appointment only.
No Helpdesk or user support staff are scheduled to be on campus this Friday. This is subject to change depending on needs. Please call the Help Desk before coming to campus if you need assistance.
