BRAZOSPORT COLLEGE 2020 VIRTUAL COMMENCEMENT

Brazosport College is excited to celebrate the graduation of over 600 students on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with a virtual commencement ceremony!  The virtual commencement ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m. with a pre-show countdown celebration at 9:30 a.m.

The virtual ceremony will be held on the College’s website www.brazosport.edu/commencement.

Members of the 2020 class, their friends, families and BC Gators everywhere are invited to watch online and offer their congratulations during the ceremony by using #bcgators20 on Twitter and Instagram.

Brazosport College President Millicent Valek, college administration, faculty and staff are excited to celebrate this milestone with all our 2020 graduates.

Brazosport College hired VEGO Pictures to produce this year’s virtual commencement. VEGO Pictures is a full-service digital production and marketing company from Los Angeles, CA with experience producing American Idol, Coachella, The X Factor USA, Golden Globe Awards, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Ellen’s Game of Games and many more.

CAMPUS ACCESS AND JOGGING TRAIL ACCESS

We want to remind everyone that Brazosport College is still in altered operations and access to campus still requires Vice President and EPG approval.

Anyone visiting campus only to use the jogging trail or tennis courts should park in the Center for Arts and Sciences parking lot at the front of campus. The red and blue lots are closed. 

Campus buildings, facilities and restrooms are not available to the public.

COVID-19 EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE FOR STUDENTS

COVID-19 Emergency Assistance is still available, so please encourage your students to apply!  The simplest way for students to check their eligibility is to open their D2L account and see if they are enrolled in the course called COVID-19 Emergency Assistance.  If they see it, all they have to do is follow the links and complete the survey application. It is that simple.

COVID-19 Emergency Assistance

Students, you may be eligible to apply for COVID-19 Emergency Assistance to cover expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to COVID-19 (including expenses such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, child care and transportation). Check your eligibility by logging on to D2L to see if you have access to the course, COVID-19 Emergency Assistance to access the application for assistance.

If you are eligible, you immediately will be able to access the COVID-19 Emergency Assistance application through your D2L account. All applications are reviewed on a first come, first serve basis.

REGISTRATION OPEN FOR SUMMER II AND FALL CLASSES

Register online at mybc.brazosport.edu.

With Summer 2020 courses being moved to an online and remote format, the $40 online course fee will be waived, but please note that all other course fees still apply.

If you need assistance paying for classes, contact BC’s Financial Aid Department by email at finaid@brazosport.edu.

The College is fully staffed, working remotely and closely monitoring email accounts. Plan ahead and save time by reaching out to our e-counselor services. E-counselor services are available from Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays.

Tommy’s will continue to offer a to-go style menu next week. This is only for the limited number of people approved to be on campus, so please do not come to campus just to purchase food. Food will need to be ordered via phone and paid by credit card.
