Grants

Grants are funds that typically do not require repayment. They are offered based on financial need as determined by the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Scholarships

Scholarships are gifts meaning they don't need to be repaid and many are not based on income. They can be offered by individuals, companies, nonprofits, communities, religious groups, professional and social organizations, and more.

Loans

A loan is money you borrow and must pay back with interest. There are three types of loans you may be offered: Direct Subsidized Loans, Direct Unsubsidized Loans, and Direct PLUS Loans.

 Apply for Aid

You can apply for aid in a few simple steps.

We encourage you to submit your applications by the priority deadlines listed in the table. Late applications are accepted, but on-time applicants have a better chance at grants and scholarships. Remember that you must apply every year, regardless of whether you're a new or continuing student.

STEP ONE

Apply for Aid

Begin by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. Next, you'll need to complete the General Scholarship Application.

STEP TWO

Submit Documents

Complete a Student Information Form and accept the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy on your myBC account.

Additional forms may be required. Be sure to check your myBC account and your BC Email regularly for updates.

STEP THREE

Review your Status

Check your myBC account for information regarding your award status. If awarded, your financial aid will be applied directly to your myBC account balance.

Remember that you are responsible for any remaining balance.

Stay Eligible for Financial Aid

The offering and disbursement of financial aid is contingent on you maintaining eligibility to receive financial aid funds. Maintaining eligibility includes demonstrating academic progress, meeting enrollment criteria, and much more.
