Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA)

Make sure to submit all financial aid requirements by the priority deadlines. If you complete your file after the priority deadline, we cannot guarantee your award will be processed in time to pay for classes, and you may need to arrange a payment plan or pay in full.

The TASFA questions ask for information about you (your name, date of birth, address, etc.) and about your financial situation. Depending on your circumstances, you might need the following information or documents as you fill out the application:

• Federal tax information or tax returns including IRS W-2 information, for you (and your spouse, if you are married), and for your parents if you are a dependent student:
  • IRS 1040
  • Foreign tax return, IRS 1040NR, or IRS 1040NR-EZ
  • Tax return for Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, or Palau
• Male students, between the ages of 18 to 25, must register with Selective Service and provide proof they have registered or are not required to register. You can register by visiting www.sss.gov or completing a registration form found at a U.S. Post Office.

La Solicitud de Ayuda Económica Estatal de Texas (TASFA) recopila información para ayudar a determinar la elegibilidad para los programas de ayuda financiera estatales (o institucionales) administrados por instituciones de educación superior en el estado de Texas.

Se alienta a los estudiantes clasificados como residentes de Texas que no son elegibles para solicitar ayuda financiera federal utilizando la Solicitud Gratuita de Ayuda Federal para Estudiantes (FAFSA) a completar la TASFA.

Para solicitar, debe descargar la solicitud y enviarla a la oficina de ayuda económica:

Cuando se haya enviado la solicitud, puede continuar con los mismos pasos enumerados en la página "Apply for Financial Aid". Le recomendamos que envíe su TASFA antes de los plazos de prioridad para el semestre al que planea asistir.

Recuerde que usted debe aplicar cada año, sin importar si usted es un estudiante nuevo o continuo.
