Submit Required Documentation

Hazlewood documentation needs to be submitted every term for which a student would like to have the exemption applied.

After the first semester of using the exemption at Brazosport College, applicants must submit the Texas Hazlewood Act Exemption Application For Continued Enrollment.

Please Note: This is only for consecutive subsequent semesters after an initial application has been turned in and approved. If you have missed a long semester (Spring or Fall) you must complete the initial application again.

You'll need to complete an application to Brazosport College on GoApplyTexas.org.

1. Provide proof (DD214) from the Department of Defense regarding military service and the nature of discharge.
2. Provide proof of eligibility or ineligibility for GI Bill® benefits (Chapter 31, 33/Post-9/11) by requesting a certificate of eligibility for federal education benefits from the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (if Veteran has active duty service after 9/11/2001).
3. Fill out the Hazlewood Exemption application form located on the Texas Veterans Commission website.
